(1) As of the November 18 meeting, we have new officers for 2009. Congratulations to President-elect Shelly Borgstedte, Vice President-elect Perry Hall, Treasurer-elect Pat Porter, and Secretary-elect Vickie Cheyne. They will be installed at our next meeting.
(2) The annual Christmas potluck dinner has been rescheduled. It has been moved to Saturday evening, December 6, at 6pm in the home of Randy Sanders. (If your services are needed during the Big Spring Christmas Parade, it is not an acceptable excuse for missing our dinner. Please plan to come by to eat and visit after you are no longer needed.) Directions and details will be mailed out soon.
Glen has volunteered to prepare his world-famous brisket, Katie is making her dynamite rolls, and if everyone will bring a dish, we will be in gastronomical heaven. So far, the food list consists of: (vegetables) chili beans, ginger carrots, green bean casserole, jalapeno sweet potatoes, (salads) tomato-avocado salad, (desserts) apple cake, and chocolate cake. Bring what you think will fit in.
(3) Looks like we have a lot of interest in the intern classes in 2009. The schedule is being wrestled with right now and will be finalized by year-end. Don't forget, Master Gardeners must receive 12 hours of re-certification training every two years to remain in good standing. Several of the classes (to be announced) will be eligible for those re-certification hours. Attending four three-hour classes will fulfill your requirements, so keep checking here for the schedule.
